Open Call for Participants from Luton
Reunion is a moving image art film, combining filmed green screen movement performance with specially created digitally animated artistic backgrounds. It aims to bring people together across time and distance to explore the strength of community and commonality, and the beauty and joy of coming out of isolation towards a shared future, with the will to take that future in a more positive direction.
The project is devised by artist and creative filmmaker Al Orange, in collaboration with Tangled Feet, and we are looking to connect with organisations and individuals from the wider community in Luton, where the work will premiere. You can find out more about the artist at www.alorange.net Instagram @al.orange
We are looking for people to contribute a short video clip of themselves moving in reaction to the provocation of the moment you said ‘no’ to something that was oppressing you or holding you back, and the power that gave you to alter your future. We will be working with Luton based artist Laura Lloyd of NGYT theatre, who will help to collect these clips and work with participants to develop their own movement ideas. The clips will then be edited into several videos, which will be shown in Luton as part of Devolution Evolution, a festival of new work by Tangled Feet artists.

Who can take part?
We want to include as many different members of the community as we can. So people will be able to contribute remotely by filming themselves on their phones against a green screen or plain background, or by taking part a green screen session in the town centre, which we will arrange (being mindful of all current covid restrictions at the time of filming). You can see a similar film down below, (but don't worry, we won't be asking you to do any circus tricks).
Tangled Feet in Luton
The piece will continue the long established Tangled Feet traditions of our artists sharing our performance space with and drawing inspiration from wide sections of the community, using both freedom of expression and mass choreography in order to celebrate the power of collective vision, as well offering artistic opportunities to the Luton public as we have previously done with live shows such as Mirror Sky and Factory Reset.
